EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques

Overview

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) was originally designed to reduce the psychotherapy process from months and years down to minutes and hours. From there it was discovered that astonishing physical healings also occurred. Symptoms faded for everything from Migraine Headaches to Cancer. Complete details are given on the EFT website at www.emofree.com. It often works where nothing else will.

EFT is based on a technique originally developed in the late 1980s by Dr. Roger Callahan, a clinical psychologist and the founder and developer of Callahan Techniques® Thought Field Therapy.  He calls the technique TTF: Thought Field Therapy.

Around 1995, Gary Craig—an early student of Dr. Callahan’s and a certified Master Practitioner—simplified the procedures in a form that anyone could use.  He called it EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques.  Based on neuro-linguistic programming principles, Emotional Freedom Techniques are one of the most widely used forms of energy psychology.  EFT has proven to be a very powerful and effective way of dealing with emotional problems and issues.

Gary describes EFT this way: "It’s an emotional form of acupuncture except that we don't use needles.  Instead, we tap with the fingertips to stimulate certain meridian points while the client is 'tuned in' to the problem.”

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."   Accordingly, EFT is an “emotional” form of acupuncture, except that no needles are used; instead you tap the fingertips to stimulate certain meridian energy points.

Powerful changes will take place during the first session.  While traditional therapy normally last months or years and can cost thousands of dollars, EFT allows you to achieve lasting results within two to five sessions.

EFT is one of a growing number of energy/meridian therapies, and while we’re not sure just how all these therapies work, the remarkable thing about them is that they work very well, primarily by centering on the profound effects the body's subtle energies create.

The EFT success rate is 80% or higher for numerous problems, something no other form of therapy can claim.  As Gary says, "EFT often works when nothing else will."  Scientific research is still in progress, but current theory maintains that when negative emotion causes an imbalance in the body's energy system, it’s rebalanced by focused tapping.
