Emotional Freedom Techniques
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a process that
was originally designed to reduce the psychotherapy
process from months and years down to minutes and hours.
In practice, astonishing physical healings also occurred
when the techniques were used. Symptoms ranging from
Migraine Headaches to Cancer faded away in the course of
treatment. Complete details are given on the EFT website

EFT often works where nothing else will. EFT was based
on a technique developed in the late 1980s by Dr. Roger
Callahan, a clinical psychologist and the founder and
developer of Callahan Techniques® Thought Field Therapy.
He calls the technique TTF: Thought Field Therapy. Around
1995, Gary Craig - an early student of Dr. Callahan's
and a certified Master Practitioner - simplified the
procedures into a form that anyone could use. He called it
EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Based on
neuro-linguistic programming principles, Emotional Freedom
Techniques are among the most widely used forms of energy
psychology. EFT has proven to be a very powerful and
effective way of dealing with emotional problems and
issues.
Gary Craig stopped his work with EFT 2010 however the
work is carried on by other very talented people.
How Does EFT Work?
Gary Craig described EFT this way: "It's an emotional
form of acupuncture except that we don't use needles.
Instead, we tap with the fingertips to stimulate certain
meridian points while the client is 'tuned in' to the
problem. The cause of all negative emotions is a
disruption in the body's energy system." Accordingly, EFT
is an 'emotional' form of acupuncture, except that no
needles are used; instead you tap the fingertips to
stimulate certain meridian energy points."
Powerful changes take place even during the first
session. Traditional therapy normally lasts months or
years and can cost thousands of dollars, but EFT allows
you to achieve lasting results within two to five
sessions.
EFT is one of a growing number of energy/meridian
therapies. While we're not yet certain of exactly how
these therapies work, the remarkable thing about them is
that they work very well, and seem to do so primarily by
centering on the profound effects of the subtle energies
of the body to create remarkable healing effects.
The EFT success rate is 80% or higher for numerous
problems, something no other form of therapy can claim. As
Gary said, "EFT often works when nothing else will."
Scientific research is still in progress, but current
theory maintains that when negative emotion causes an
imbalance in the body's energy system, focused tapping can
restore the balance.
