Using Your Senses to Attract Positive Energies
by/Margit Cathrine moller

We all need positive energies like we need food. If food feeds our body, positive energies feed our whole being. Anything that makes us feel good about ourselves and about life in general is a positive energy. In fact, it may come from food, from friends, from successes, from daily experiences, from prayers, from greetings, and from your instinct.

The more positive energy we have stored in our body, the stronger we become physically and emotionally. With positive energies, we respond better to stresses and tensions. With positive energies, we are more resistant to diseases. With positive energies, we make better decisions.

There are ways to attract positive energies – the most basic of these is using our senses. What you choose to see, hear, feel, taste, and touch will affect our well-being. Here are some of the ways we can uses our sense organs:

A. Our eyes - Colour therapy

This is one of the most basic tools in attracting positive energies. The choice of color that our eyes absorb will affect our brain functions and our human processes. That is what fastfood chains have bright colors like red and orange as these are colors known to stimulate our appetites.

Studies have shown that bright colours actually enhance our moods and can fight off depressive tendencies. Red boosts our energy and stimulates the immune system. But if you are feeling frantic and hyperactive, try blue. It is the color of tranquility and serenity. Yellow uplifts the spirits and gives a positive well-being. Choose your colors well – whether for your clothes, curtains, bed linens, underwear, walls.

B. Our nose – Aromatherapy

Wikipedia defines aromatherapy as “ a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile plant materials, known as essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering a person's mind, mood, cognitive function or health. Some essential oils such as tea tree have demonstrated anti-microbial effects, but there is still a lack of clinical evidence demonstrating efficacy against bacterial, fungal, or viral infections. Evidence for the efficacy of aromatherapy in treating medical conditions remains poor, with a particular lack of studies employing rigorous methodology, however some evidence exists that essential oils may have therapeutic potential.”

Like everything else in alternative medicine, scientific studies are still ongoing but thousands of years of practice in Oriental medicine have proven that what your nose smells affect your brain functions. A simple act of smelling the flowers can uplift your spirits; and that is one of reasons why people wear perfume.

C. Our ears – Music Therapy

Perhaps one of the most common tools in mood enhancement and in attracting positive energies, listening to good music soothes the body, the mind, and the soul. The American Music Therapy Organization has a wonderful online resource for those who want a more scientific approach to music therapy in enhancing positive energies and moods.

Or you can just play your favorite songs and close your eyes. That could work too.

D. Our tongue - Diet

Food and flavor affect our mood. There is no debate on that. Even the most skeptic medical practitioner understands and accepts the effect of food on our emotional well-being. Choose your food well, avoid anger foods and choose smile foods - fruit and vegetables, especially organic, which are known to bring more positive energies to your life. As opposed to processed, heavily fertilized products that bring toxins to your body.

E. Our touch – Touch Therapy

And allow your skin to experience a good and therapeutic massage. That is as positively enhancing as it can get.

I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.

Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.
